My address bar (URL?) has gone and I can't do anything when I want to search using the www. I have a Mac

Open safari.
Look at the top of your monitor, and press “View”
Click on “Show Toolbar”. If you do not see this option then click “Customize Toolbar” from the drop-down.
Press the default set and just drag it to the toolbar to safari.
