Why do scientist believe that the world is comprehensible and understandable
So what do you think is the answer?
They tend to feel confident because they can test their their theories out by way of observation and experimentation. This process tends to make the world understandable.
Prior to science there were many theories, but these theories were impossible to prove - or if two theories were claiming to explain a phenomenon it was impossible to decide upon the correct theory.
