My old flange is broke apart/ the flange is leaded in the cast iorn pipe,
I have cast iron pipe and the flange is all broken apart, I chiped away the rest of the flange and try using the slip in type flange( the one that screws down ) buit it doesn't stay tight and when I go to tighten the bolts down it keeps pulling up. Also we recently tiled the floor so the extra thickness maight be a problem? I was thinking about cutting the tile away so the toilet will sit lower or will that not matter. If I need to remove the old lead around the old flange what is the best way to remove it with out the use of a torch.
Thankd for your help
