    When did I conceive?
I left town on the 17th had intercourse came back on the 25th. I started my period the 26th three days after intercourse then after my period had unprotected sex then had spotting five days after period. Positive pregnancy test. Had my first doctor appointment on November 1st ultrasound stated I was 8 weeks 4 days. So did I conceive after my period??

Some women actually get pregnant ON their period.

You have a one month window . YOU take their estimated amount... and allow two weeks before and two weeks after it. That gives you 28 days at any point during which you might have conceived.

Sometime from middle Sept to middle of Oct, no way to be sure. You will have to do a DNA test once the child is born to confirm who the father is.

Only sure way to determine paternity is with a DNA test after the child is born.

Doesn't matter when your period was... you go by the estimate of how far along you are with the ultrasound... backtrack that amount and that 28 period two weeks before and after the estimated time is the window...

Medical science can not give a closer than a 28 day window of when conception occurred.

Some women have a period for the first month pregnant, so it is possible it was the man from before the period, Having or not having a period is often a sign, but not always, a few women at times can have one or two periods while pregnant.

So again, the dating, is not to the day, it is a estimate give or take a week, and often two weeks

It might help you to understand that first day of pregnancy is considered the estimated date of the start of the cycle that resulted in pregnancy, which is usually roughly 2 weeks before the date of conception. The last day of your period is the last day of a cycle, so the first day after that would be the first day of the next cycle. If you get pregnant during that cycle, they use that first date (estimated) as the first day of your pregnancy. So if they say you are 8 weeks pregnant, you can figure you conceived roughly 6 weeks ago.

Actually, Chuck, that's not true. I hate to correct you. Some women do have bleeding for the first month, or even all throughout their pregnancy, and mistake it for a period. But once pregnant, no, a woman will not have her period.

No problem, yes period like bleeding, assumption that she would just confuse it for period.

I was talking down to someone again, I am sorry

No need to be sorry. I know that you knew the info, I just wanted to make sure that the OP knew it too. :)
