My wife left her lights on.the battery died, it is a 07 chevy aveo.I can't get to the battery to boost it.why can't I put it in gear when I have turned the key??

I think you should just jump start the car (connect your battay to that of an other running car), then start the car. And it should just run fine.

Most cars that have a hidden battery have some sort of post under the hood that is labeled for jump starting a car... read your owners manual if you can't find it.

Or... am I misunderstanding you? Is the car in such a position that you physically can't get to the battery? Is that why you're asking about putting it in gear? Have you tried stepping on the brake pedal while trying to put the car in gear?
