Why is my dog peeing in her sleep?
I have a young chihuahua. She is under the age of 4. just recently she has been peeing in her sleep at night. Only at night. Whether it be in my bed or her kennel. I take her out potty frequently and she is house trained. She does not appear to have any of the UTI symptoms. Please does anyone have any clues or suggestions.

Have you taken your dog to a vet? UTI's can cause problems such as this.

There are some UTI's that are higher up in the urinary tract and your typical UTI symptoms won't be seen.. In fact, bacteria can infects the sphincter of the bladder and the dog will lose control of it.. a temporary incontinence.

It'd be worth having the vet check her out. Peeing while asleep is not normal, and until this is resolved, I would suggest to purchase doggy diapers for girls to help save your things and so you don't get mad at her.

    Is she spayed?

First off, you need to make sure she does not have an infection, as that can cause these symptoms.
If her urine checks out fine, sometimes spayed female dogs (even this young) can become incontinent. Thankfully it is easily treatable.
