    Teotwawki
In the interests of preparing for the catacylsm to come
    Murphy's Laws of TEOTWAWKI

Murphy's Law is an adage that is typically stated as: “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”.

    1. Food, you still don't have enough

    2. People without back up shelters might be without shelter

    3. People with guns and no food are finding out that people with food have guns too

    4. Look hungry, they might leave you alone.

    5. Seed bank, the new source of wealth

    6. Insects, It's what's for dinner

    7. Gun shots, they attract unwanted attention

    8. Ask everyone if they have food or water, Jedi mind tricks might work on desperate people

    9. Wood burning stoves, they are like pots of gold

    10. The less people you know, the better off you are

    11. Mormons, suddenly they have a lot of new friends

    12. Friendly hungry people….. aren't

    13. People who thought they could make it with just a survival knife are finding out they can't

    14. Satellite Dishes, they make great family dinner tables

    15. If invited to a dinner party and you can't figure out what's on the menu, it's you

    16. Houses full of food attract the unwanted envy of hungry people

    17. Friends who show up without food are not good friends

    18. Electricity, the good old days

    19. Dog Food, who knew

    20. Cash, it's a great way to start a fire

    21. Alternative energy, you're kicking yourself now for not investing in it

    22. Watching your garden grow, the new Sunday afternoon sport

    23. The Government, it will feed itself first

    24. Large groups of people with guns make the rules

    25. Bad water & Montezuma's Revenge, they have come to America

    26. People who thought the Government would save them, found out that it didn't

    27. Hospitals, no longer a place of healing

    28. EMP, now everyone knows what it means

    29. Sandy dry soil, suddenly not such a cool place to live anymore

    30. If food is the new currency then fresh water is a hot commodity

    31. Gold coins, they don't taste very good

    32. Toilet paper, should have bought more of that stuff

    33. Ham radio operators, who are the nerds now?

    34. Burning Green Wood = Smoke / Smoke = Attention / Attention = Bad

    35. Trying to start a fire with two sticks? Should have stocked up on more matches

or just plain old WACKY? For the uninformed TEOTWAWKI means the end of the world as we know it, an idea subscribed to by more than you know

Paraclete, I'll post to you on Saturday, after the end of the world is yet again supposed to happen. I've survived (as have you and many others) many predictions of the end of the world. I'd bet a million dollars that Friday the 21st will come and go without incident. Of course, that bet is a win win, since your winning would mean that I'm not alive for you to collect. ;)

This isn't about Dec 21, you can post about that in my other thread.

Like you I think there are many stupid ideas in this world and thinking you know the day of the end is one of them, and preparing for it even stupider, at best you will survive a few days longer. These ideas fuel abnormal behaviour as was unfortunately so tragidly demonstrated in Newtown.

No this thread is to introduce a more light hearted theme

Yeh I've got an old pot belly in the garage and I've still got my BBQ hotplate and a nice little water tank in the back yard and that pailing fence looks good, best of all, my house is concrete. I know where I can get a nice solar system just across the road, not only that but my stack of alternative living magazines make me possessor of the only library worth having, that's got to be worth a lot

No left over hippie I guess, I went bush and did the alternative life style thing long before being an environmentalist was popular, I learned that you can cut and carry fire wood for just so long. Self sufficiency is a very hard thing to achieve

So Clete, isn't already the 21st there? How did we fare?

Yes the 21st has dawned bright and beautifull with just a hint of impending doom. Cyclone Evan is headed for New Zealand after wiping out Samoa and Fiji, they have discovered Nth Queensland is in for a tsumani, similar to the one predicted for the east coast of the US. I knew there was a reason I moved to the mountains, hey go figure they were urgently installing another solar installation across the road my energy supply is assured

But you are about to fall off a cliff they tell me, something about not being able to get your shlt together so teotwawki is still on for the northern climes and horror of horrors our government has announced they will not be able to return their finances to surplus, we' ll put that one down to you, you are not buying enough.
