    Scars from cutting myself
I'm 13 and I've been cutting for a while now and I can't get my scars to go away. I can't walk around my own house without a coat or sonthing on because I'm afraid of what my mom will think of me. If you know anything that might help pleas tell me

I use to self injure and to be honest nothing really helps hide them. I have dealt with my issues and my scars remind me of a time that I survived through. Have you thought of asking for help with this? You could talk to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your pastor, any adult.
I hope you find the help you need so you can stop and not worry about others seeing.

I haven't stopped cutting completely I go off and on. I can't stand looking down and seeing my wrists and legs scared. It's gotten to the point wear people are starting to notice. I don't have any adult that I trust enough to tell. I just don't know what to do. Every scar has a bad memory behind it.

Can you try the kids help phone? They may be able to give you somewhere to call in your area.

If you're not sure where to turn, call the S.A.F.E. Alternatives information line in the U.S. at (800) 366-8288 for referrals and support for cutting and self-harm. \

    Are you in the U.S.

I'm glad you trusted us and posted here. How about calling that number for some suggestions about the scars at least and maybe ask how to stop cutting.

If you won't talk to people you don't know (like us) and you won't trust people you know, then what?

I know what you are saying. I was there at one point. I still struggle with the phone to this day even with people I know.
It is hard what we are asking you to do. I realize that but the rewards for you are so huge. You came here asking for help. That is what we are trying to do. Self injury can be tough to beat but can be done. You will need help with it.
Couple things I would like you to do:
    1. Write out what you would say to someone to ask for help. Write it out for a stranger and for a person you know. Pretend the conversation is happening. Write out what you would say to them.
    2. Make a list of people you can talk to.
    3. Don't let your fears stop you. Being scared is normal but sometimes we have to fight it.
    4. Do some self soothing before you talk to someone. This is things that help lessen your emotions. For me it is coloring, crafts, reading a happy book, watching a happy movie, playing WoW, hot bathe, rubbing lotions in my hands and feet or snuggling with a stuffed animal. They are different for every person. Pick what helps you.
    You can do this.

Thank you so much I've never known what to do but hopefully this will help
