    Weight gain on medications
Hi I was put on atenolol for inapproiate sinus tachycardia and have found that I am putting on weight. I do not over eat and eat good foods. Any suggestions how to lose some weight, or a good healthy diet to follow. Thanks Esmae.

Atenolol is a beta blocker which means it slows the heart rate; sinus tachycardia, although the name would misdirect, is a condition whereby the heart has an unusually fast beat.

Your metabolism has slowed down because of this; just cut calories, adjust what you eat to smaller portions. More walking to compensate for the slowed heart rate.
