I have water pressure for a few minutes and then goes to zero. It builds up pressure when water is off (50 PSI) but only last short period. I have a submersible pump and well-rite pressure tank.

Does this happen in all plumbing fixtures throughout the house ?

In the interim: Was there any plumbing work done on your house recently ?

It sure looks like something is restricting water flow. Make sure all valves are fully open and any device installed on your incoming water system (... like pressure regulator, back flow preventer, etc ) are in proper working order.

1. When you have no water, is the gauge on the system reading zero?
2. If so, then check your pressure switch. Turn off the power, then remove the grey cover and eyeball the four sets of contact points. Are they touching? They should be.
3. If they are touching, then the pump should be running. You can usually tell by simply feeling the pipe where the well pipe comes out of the well. There will be a slight but noticeable vibration in the pipe.

Yes, please let us know what the gauge reads when you have a lack of water at the fixtures. If the gauge still reads above thirty, but you don't have much water at the fixtures, you may be looking at a filter, or water softener issue (if present).
