I installed tile on floor of bathroom which raised the toilet about 1". I have a closet flange on the wall and the toilet rets on the tile floor but now because the toilet and closet flange are mis-aligned, the toilet has problems flushing. I have not been able to find or hear of a proper offset flange or wax or no-wax ring that will fix my problem. I am sure that when I flush the toilet, the waste catches on the uneven edge of the toilet/wall flange causing it to hang up and restrict flow.

And you didn't take into account that when you raised then floor you would also raise your toilet? Offset flanges (see image) are designed to work on the floor and not on the wall. I can see three options open to you,
1. Set the bowl on the tile and make a outline. Then cut and remove the tile so the bowl sets where it used to. ( That would be my choice, Done correctly you can caulk the bowl with Dap White Tub and Tile Caulk and have a professional looking installation.
2- Open up the wall and raise the tee and flange. **or**
3- Purchase a 1" offset flange and give it a try.

Unfortunately I did not think about the toilet not aligning with the flange after raising it, poor planning on my part. The closet flange is glued to a 4-way PVC fitting and a toilet is mounted on the bathroom wall behind this toilet so it wouldn't work to raise unless the other toilet was raised to match.
My son does tile work and he said it would not be easy to cut out the floor tile and backer board without it looking bad but after what you say it may be the only real choice I have.

Do you have a regular closet flange in place now... set flush to wall? Here, most wall hung toilets work off a CARRIER with bolts in place, but since you were able to set the toilet it makes me wonder if you may just have a regular closet flange in place... hmmm..

Next question:

If you do have a regular closet flange flush with the wall, is there space (pipe) between the 4-way fitting and the closet flange?

If there is space, then an offset flange may actually work for you here! If there isn't space (depth of the offset claoset flange) then you may be out of luck!

Hey Mark,
He doesn't have a wall hung toilet. He has a bowl that sets on the floor with a rear discharge. His problem is that when the new tile was installed it raised the bowl up so it no longer matched up with the flange.
So what do you think about nu solutions? One, two or three? Back to you, Tom

Thank you for sending the reply I am sorry that it took so long for me to notice. I registered using my Yahoo account which I don't check that often so I didn't see your post. Looking inside the wall flange, it appears that the flange is glued right into the 4-way fitting and there is no extra pipe to work with.

I recently changed out the wax ring with a black rubber-foam (chill water insulation type) gasket the local plumbing store suggested to try but it now flushes worse.

I will try to pull toilet today and see if I can carve out a portion of the top rubber-foam ring and reset toilet then check flushing.
