Me and this guy have been best friends for a while now. We have recently told each other that we like each other and could see us dating in the near future. There's one problem though... his ex girlfriend. They dated for 11 months and he broke up with her because she's psycho and got mad over everything he did. She is supposedly my distant cousin and she says that I'm trying to "steal" him away from her, but I'm truly not. I just want her to be out of the picture so me and this guy can move forward to a relationship. How can I remove his ex girlfriend out of the picture without being very mean about it?

Time. Just give it time. And he needs to stop all contact with her.

They both go to the same church and they talk maybe a few times a day. I know that he doesn't want anything to do with her anymore. They broke up about 2 weeks ago.

That's what I've told him to do. He says that he hates being mean to her and hurting her feelings. Yet he doesn't have any feelings for her. I just feel so confused.

Sounds like he may not be sure that he wants it to be over with her.

Read it again... she now told us that it's only been 2 weeks.

And that last line: "She is not your problem, he is." is perfect. Sums it up very well.
