    Combi boiler not working properly
    Hi. I have a problem with my combi boiler. I have placed 2 questions on the plumbing page but have had no luck so thought I'd try here instead.
    My boiler was switching itself on during the summer for no apparent reason. As this was wasting gas we have had to turn it off when not in use. Now we have noticed that the water pressure gauge is on 0. When I turn the valve to add more water I find there isn't any to replace what is missing. It's really getting on our nerves now. Is it a simple problem to resolve. What with the cold weather we need it for the heating, which is also now not working. Any advice would be gratefully accepted. Thank you.

    You have to be more specificDo you use the boiler to heat hot water that you shower with etc? Because that could cause the boiler to come on in the summer.

    The pressure gauge. You said when you turn on the water there is not any to replace? Is the line not feeding water or is the boiler full of water already?

    Hi.The boiler isn't already full so I assume it's the line not feeding water. The shower is one attached to the taps and has been since I moved in 7 yrs ago and the boiler has never done this before this yr.

    The first thing you have to do is get the boiler fed with water, Then it will probably be necessary to bleed the air out of the lines.

    I have no idea since I am not there and do not know exactly how your setup is designed. You might post some pictures of your complete system especially around the boiler and that will help me figure it out for you. One thought I did have is that you could have a defective boiler water feed pressure reducing valve. This could prevent water from going into the boiler but I do not know for sure if you have one. Post pictures please.
