Why is my 4yr old's poop white?
... It's been white and clay like for a week and everything that I'm reading online says it is a problem with the liver but when I called the doc he didn't seem concerned. He told me to wait it out but I don't know what I'm waiting for other then a nervous breakdown because I'm worrying to death over this. Please help!

I sure would be looking for a different doctor and would take my child there to get some answers.

It could be an obstructed bile duct, which some babies are born with (bile, that green stuff secreted by the gall bladder, and which helps with digestion, is what turns feces brown). I too would consult another doctor. If your child isn't in distress, I wouldn't panic.

I guess I'm most concerned that your doctor didn't talk with you about this and explain what might be going on, but just sent you on your merry way with unanswered questions. I had a doctor like that ("It'll be okay" and "Don't worry your pretty little head over that" and "You moms worry too much"). I don't go to him any longer. And if any medical person doesn't give me the straight dope and tries to slide out the door, well, you don't want to be in the treatment room with me.
