40y x 25 + 50 x 50 = 1350 I think Ive got the answer but can't remember how I got it x = 135 y = 46

Bethany - sorry, but the equations as you've entered them make no sense. For example what is this: 25x x40+50x50=1150? Is the 'x' a variable, or is it the multiplication sign? And I suspect you've left out some key elements such as '+' symbols. If you are trying to cut and paste from another program it doesn't work well on this site - you'll have to type them out manually. And also please use parentheses so that it's clear.
