Is it too cold to re-roof?
I live in lower New York State. We were hammered by Sandy and I have to replaced 6 joists in the roof, and then re-shingle a whole side from the gutter up to the ridge vent. A tree fell on the roof, it also poked about 10 holes in the plywood. I figure 8 squares need to be replaced.

Is this time of year too cold to shingle? I have heard some say yes, but none of the contractors I got an estimate from say it is bad this time of year. 1 did say he would prefer to do it in July, but that's about all I get for an answer.

If anyone has any thoughts on the matter, I would appreciate it. I basically feel like I accepted a substandard job 3 years ago, I don't want any problems now.

Certainteed installation manual says, " dry conditions and temperature above 40 degrees F." Weather Channel shows temps at 60 this week. Hammer now!

I agree with Brian. If temp is 40 and rising, OK to install.

I guess that gives me a couple of weeks. Thanks!

Considering your damages you must get a roof down asap no matter what the weather. It looks good for several days so go for it.
