My cousin from my mum's side and I have had feelings for each other since our childhood. We haven't done anything bad together and don't want to. I always pray to Allah to get us married but is it haram or unacceptable to do that?

It is allowed to marry a cousin. Its not something they encourage, but its not haraam either. And some cultures may frown on it.

How is your cousin related to you? Your mom's brother's son/daughter or even farther? Biologically, second cousins can get married,, far as I know, there might be some problem with having children (children might be born with syndroms) if you marry 1st cousin... not sure how true it is,, but better check,,

There is a slight higher risk of issues with children from 1st cousins. My latest readings show that the risk is not that much higher.
