I have a disabled child he is one of a set of twins. I have full custody and they are 17 for how long must the father pay child support in the state of Florida (Miami-Dade County) to a permanently disabled child?? And must these payments be in form of direct deposit to me or the disabled adult child?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you just getting divorced now? Do you have an attorney?

The amount of the disability will make the issue. If they are mentally disabled to the point they will never be able to make their own choices and someone will be appointed over them, is one issue.

If it is a mild mental or a physcial handicap, then normally it just ends like any child support.
