Gas furnace is beeping a short while after it goes on. Can you tell me if it indicates a dangerous situation? And what causes the beeping?

Why not post the model number and a description of what you have checked. It is probably stopped up with dirt and you may need to clean the coils to get airflow up. We cannot know more without more info.
