Looking for book titel-Kids escape to island-British?
In this book a little girl (10-12 maybe?) is living next door to a house
That has a lot of children. She is living alone with her mother (I think
Her father died) and her mother gets called away. They don't know anyone
In the town because they have just moved there so she has to stay at the
House next door. The kids are wild and they have some men who come after
Them for some reason while their mother is gone (shopping maybe?). They
Then leave to go and hide out on an island (or maybe a lake) that the
Eldest brother knows about. They have to travel by train to get there. I
Think there is another brother and a sister and also a baby. I can
Remember it vividly, it is a somewhat older book (maybe 70's or 80's). I
Always thought that it was called "The Hiding Place" but I have been
Looking for it for years under that name and haven't found it yet. It was
My favorite adventure book when I was younger. Any help would be
    Appreciated!

The Hiding Place is a book by Corrie ten Boome about her experiences in Nazi Germany.

I got the answer on another site, it's "The Hiding Place" by Winifred Mantel. Thank you though!

Should have thought about two books with the same title. Glad you found it.
