If I am 6-8 weeks pregnant why won't a home test give me a positive result?
Quick Background: The last time I was pregnant, I had implantation bleeding. I FELT pregnant 2 weeks after. I took at least 6 -8 tests (home pregnancy kits) they all showed up negative. Finally after I missed what I thought had been my 2nd period, I took a test and it came back positive. Imagine my shock when the ultrasound showed me to be 7 weeks pregnant when I thought I was perhaps 2-3 weeks.

Now- It seems the same thing has occurred. My cycles are around 30-32 days in length. I had my period on Oct.3 2012. And a very light flow Oct.31. I sensed it could have been implantation bleeding AGAIN. Same thing. I have taken a dozen tests all say negative. Now I have missed what should be the next scheduled period today if my body suddenly jumped to a 28 day cycle as it appears to have unless it was implantation bleeding. I had a dream I was told I was pregnant as well. I am now convinced I am.

WHY IS THE HORMONE FOR PREGNANCY NOT SHOWING UP IN MY URINE? WHY Didn't IT SHOW UP LAST TIME FOR 6 WEEKS?

Are you sure you took the tests properly? THat is the most comon reason for false negatives beyon the 4 week point.

The simple answer is that you are taking the tests too early. It's best to wait until your period is at least a week or two late before you test, sometimes as in your case, it can take longer than two missed periods. It's also important to use first morning urine.
