Does anyone know why my new boiler is making banging sounds (like metal on metal)
Hope someone can help me! I just got a new boiler (heating) installed in my house to replace the old one I had. I have both radiant and baseboard heating in my house (radiant on main floor and baseboard upstairs). I do not hear any noises on the main floor, but I hear intermittent loud banging noises (like metal clanging on metal) upstairs. I can hear it coming from within the walls and occurs most frequently and loudest during the coldest part of the night.
I haven't been able to sleep for a while and I just spent lots of money on this new heating system. Installer suggests ripping out the walls and insulating the pipes and is going to charge me an arm and leg. Can someone please tell me what the problem is? I don't have enough money to do what he is suggesting and I'm desperate for some much needed sleep...
