Only have the plot - title is probably not Sleeping Beauty, but the book was an adaptation of that story.
However, I can't remember the title, the publisher, the author, or anything useful. It was similar to a Sleeping beauty tale, taking place in a magical garden of roses & thorns; the briars and brambles were controlled by a witch/evil stepmother archetype, and the maiden and hero/knight/male love interest had to slice their way out to live. But all I remember clearly are these very stylized but amazing illustrations of the roses, in oranges, reds, and purples, on black backgrounds...
Ring any bells?
