Hi right this is a delicate matter I have been in a relationship with a girl for 11 years in the past I have been punished for domestic violence against her and have been to prison twice I had a serious drink problem not an excuse but it was a bad time there has been no violence in 2 years and we are happy really happy my girlfriend was attacked a few weeks ago and the girl who did it was charged and cautioned she broke her noes causing an op and psychological problems the police officer has now told her that this girl had made a statement suggesting she did not cause these injures to my girlfriend and that I have. I was not even there on the night in question I understand that my past is not the best one and that my partner and I have had issues but can I sue this girl for slander as it has upset me and really upset my girlfriend as she left this in the past and doesn't want it dragged up again thanks

Sorry I am dyslexic I am asking my girlfriend for some spellings. The girl attract her and has been charged and cautioned. I am not worried but upset my girlfriend feels as if the girl has got away with beating her up she is already going through personal claims as she is now suffering from panic attacks and does not want to leave the house. I can't understand how this girl has made a statement indicating that I am the one that assaulted her when its untrue. Maybe this girl may have got into more trouble as my girlfriends injures were appalling. But surely I can do something about her accusing me and this will also make it clear to the police this girl attacked my girlfriend thanks
