I want to improve in everyway especially in driving
So I'm a 17 years old girl and I've been taking driving lessons since August, around 50 lessons and I'm not improving... at all.
My instructor is mad at me and kind of hopeless... he also told me something that really made me feel like there's something wrong with me which is : you're the only young girl that I teach that is not improving, all the young ones I've taught only took 20 lessons.
Which made me really think that there's something wrong with me...
I don't know what happens to me... Maybe anxiety, fear, disability or maybe all of these... I don't know I'm lost
Please help me

If you don't get it after 50 lessons, then you should never be behind a wheel. Simple. Could be you are just not ready yet to comprehend the mechanics of driving a car.

You can use the internet, spell, write a clear sentence (just a few errors).
I assume that you are doing OK in classes?
You should be able learn how to drive.

You might have anxiety about all the information that is coming at you all at once, fear of causing an accident, fear of being chewed out by the teacher.
You might have lack of depth perception.
- have lack of hand to eye co-ordination.
- have poor reaction time.
- be color blind.
There are ways to test the last 4.

Sorry, I wrote this in a hurry.
I'm trying my best. In some lessons I make no mistakes and really feel happy.
So today at the beginning it was perfect, but then when I made one mistake my instructor yelled at me and then I didn't stop making mistakes

There is one thing you need to do when you are driving is concentrate. I hate lousy drivers, they cause horrendous accidents, people get killed, maimed. One can know all the rules and basically know what to do, but if you can't react quick enough in an emergency or life threatening situation behind the wheel, then you had better not drive.

You said 50 lessons right? That was 30 too many.

My son is not a good driver, he is 30 and living in Germany, but years ago he recognized that he was not, and quit driving before someone got hurt.

So take a hint from your sensory perception and don't drive; it will be easier for you and everyone else.

Edit: in Ontario at a drivers examination there is zero tolerance; if you can't do it properly with an instructor present, then you don't get your license.

Thank you I think you are right.
Perhaps you can tell me how to overcome those?

You may want to try a different teacher, but things like reaction time, color blind and hand eye, co=ordination really are just you, some people are better than others.

Are you easy to distract ?

What exactly are you doing wrong when driving

Overcoming anxiety is often a lifelong process. There's no way to know what it's basis is. Do your parent(s) drive and are they good drivers? Sometimes we pick up habits and fears from them.

Think about how much you want your license. Think of all the freedom being able to drive will give you when you leave home. Think POSITIVE. When you are corrected, say yes sir or yes ma'm and be glad of it. Your eyes should be routinely moving as you drive, staying on the road ahead but with constant 'side looks' to your 3 mirrors, the signs, and to your left and right. Plan it: look ahead, rear view, ahead, side mirror, ahead, other side mirror, ahead, signs, ahead, what's to your left, ahead, what's to your right, ahead. It might be a different order depending on what's happening around you of course.

Getting tested for reaction time etc might not be easy to find. Finding out if you are color blind is easy - ask your teacher to test you on the road, with red and green objects.

When I was in driver ed, it was part of high school (free!) and we were tested on a machine with a brake pedal, etc. But that was 50 years ago.

Perhaps your teacher is worthless or maybe he makes you too nervous. Have you considered changing to a different teacher?

I agree with the others who have suggested trying a new instructor.
