I was planning to get my cartilage pierced on the 9th of December, and am going to mexico 20 days later, would I be able to swim in the ocean and pools with it with the amount of healing time given? Should I get it done earlier?

I just got mine done on November 23rd. They strongly recommend you don't swim in pools or take baths because of the bacteria, and I'm not sure about the beach I would ask the person piercing you. It takes up to 6-12 months to heal. I would also recommend getting a stud instead of a ring because I was told by the women who pierced me they heal faster.
