I cought as a shoplifting for 14$ in BC, canada. The guard from the store took me to his office and asked about my ID. Then called to police to make them a file for notification. The guard told me there will be no criminal record or fines, but I need to do some volunteer so I can give my fault back to the community. I know it is not going to be stain my record, but still the police has file/file# on there system. Now, I wonder is the file stays forever? Or is there any way I can remove the file?

I really want to know. Please answer for it...

There is always some record someplace, it will not show up in criminal background searches.

If you are ever famous or get in government office some newspaper group may find it, that is about it

So is there anyway I can remove the history (police file)? I haven't arrested and there were no police attend (it was just on the phone with police. To check my criminal record and give police notification). If I am done all the hours of community service, this police file will be removed? Or how long does it going to be stayed in the police file folder?
