It's been almost a year since me and my boyfriend has been together. The first 4 months were long distance. We talked everyday morning and night. Once he decided to move closer to me which is where he originates. He moved in with his parents, sister, her husband and twin boys. He has 9 year old son who lives with his ex. They are on good terms and they keep it like that for their son. He visits his son about once a month. They have been together for 10 years and have not yet to get married. I always wondered the real reason. I had asked him and he said he never did because of financial issues. He makes a decent living, drives a brand new car and very stable. He paid for his ex school funds, bills, rent whatever it may be. Anyhow we got serious, did the whole dating, dining and now I'm getting to the point where it's just predictable. My boyfriend isn't the spontaneous type. I am always trying to make plans to go out, watch a movie, dinner, comedy shows, weekend trips. He's not really trying or giving into this at all. He waits until I get home from school or work then we decide on what to have for dinner. It's been very blah. I don't know if I'm interested anymore. He's very mellow, and quiet. I just need a little more excitement. I'm the one who makes decisions all the time.

About his son again, He sees his some about once A month. When he spends time with his son all they do is play video games and all they talk about are video games. I find that crazy because he's 33. If we do end up marrying and having kids I wouldn't want him to just throw games to the kids and make that entertainment.

On the upside,
My boyfriend is a nice, sweet and generous guy but I don't know if this is what I want.

Some guys are great people and friends but lousy romantic partners or life mates. If you need more and he ain't the one then let him know its was great while it lasted but you are ready to move on.

That would be the honest thing to do. Have you at least talked about your needs and boredom?
