I have no siblings in this country. I live with one of my mum's brother. I used to like a guy from 7/8 months. He is a divorcée and I am a divorcée as well and we both are muslim. I asked my family if I can marry him, my family was not agree. Then me and him decided to get married by ourselves without anybody knowing. On the marriage day there was an imam who ran the marriage, one of his friend was presented as my guardian, one of his brother and his nephew were present there as witness. I had no body from my side but me. Now some of my relatives are saying this marriage is not valid as I had no mahram present there. I would like to know is this marriage valid as I am an adult, self dependent woman? I am really worried about it.
