    vibrations in shower head
A loud vibration is coming from the pipes above the showerhead. What can be causing this?. I tried turning off the water at the main, and I tried running the water at different locations to see if the noise would stop. The humming sound does not stop. Please advise. Thank you

    Hi Contiveros...

Is the issue happening with both hot and cold water flow? If it is then I suspect that the main water shutoff has a loose washer and is "chattering". To resolve this means caling the water department and a plumber to coordinate replacing the shutoff!

Another reasonable possibility is that you could have a pressure reducing valve (PRV) causing the rattle/sounds you are hearing. Here, if you do have a PRV (see image) then they make a repair kit and it may be possible to repair the unit.

Either way, unless you are super handy you're calling in a plumber to mess with these things!

    Back to you...
