I have a 2008 Dodge Dakota and I would like info about bumper struts. Some one was driving it and bumped it to something now my bumper cover is sitting off a little on the right side I have looked at it and the bumper strut is bent up a little that's why the bumper cover is off a little. I have asked people about this they told me to un hook the battery then hammer it back. I don't know if I do this and hook the battery up again would this set off my air bags. Everyone I have asked don't know too. Thanks for the help

Air bags are not acctuated until the vehicle is moving 5 MPH. Hitting the bumper strut with the battery on will not cause the bags to deploy. However, better safe than sorry so disconnect and reconnect.
