Is it OK for a 14 year old girl to date a 16 year old boy?
Im 14 years old and I've been talking to a guy I really like who is 16, I have found out that he likes me as well through asking questions to him, but I've been talking to my friends and they say its not OK. So I was wondering if it will be OK if we end up going out, like if it will be safe or not?
    Thanks Nat x

Yes its not much of a age difference. Just be sure to be careful boys that age are only worried about one thing, SEX. Would hate for you to be pressured into something like that. Hope I helped.

Yeah it is good as long as you donot inject the sexual part in your relationship.

Are your parents OK with you dating, and dating a 16 year old?
I think 14 is too young to date. Your parents need to consent to your dating at that age.

I think it is fine you just have to be smart about it... don't let him pressure you into anything... I think it isn't much of an age difference and if he treats you right then go for it! :)

First of all dating needs to be OK with her parents and there is a difference between a 14 year old and a 16 year old. Not in years, but in stage of life.

This is not a matter of what you or your peers think is okay. This is a matter that your parents and only your parents can determine. If they say no to you dating, then you can't date, that's the law.

I don't have a big problem with a 14 yr old and a 16 yr old just dating. The age gap is not that big. And 14 is not an unreasonable age to start dating. But, as others have noted, the key to this is parental consent. You need to first talk to your parents and make sure they allow you to date in general and this boy in particular.

Until and unless they agree then the answer is no.

Aside to all those that think its fine. I suspect you are all teenagers who don't understand that parents still control them to a large extent. Like I said, the age gap is not the big problem here, parental consent is!

If both groups of parents agree, then there is no problem. ( there can be no sex of course) just dating.

There is no real issue with this age gap, if both parties are ready for it.

And get your parents permission first.
