    Have intrepid, won't travel
I have a 1998 intrepid 2.7. It died in a parking lot. It would start and idle but would not increase above idle without stalling. It got towed home. Now it doesn't idle although it sounds like it wants to start. I suspected fuel filter or MAP sensor. Test on sensor gave me good voltage on PCM lines. Backprobing just gave a flicker on the voltmeter needle. Is there anything else to check?

    1. Check all under-dash and under-hood fuses, using a test light or multimeter.
    2. Check for codes, using a scan tool.
    3. Check voltage between MAP Sensor connector reference wire (+) and ground, with ignition ON.
    4. Check for spark and, if warranted, check distributorless coils:

Replace platinum plugs, if you have 50,000 miles on them, with the exact MOPAR plug that came in the car.

    5. Check for fuel. Listen for the fuel pump whine, when the ignition switch is turned to ON.
