Vibrating / Rattling noise when faucet is opened / closed
    Hello,

Since the last 24 hours, I have noticed an issue that I never had before. When I turn on my kitchen or upstairs bathroom faucet, or close it, I hear a very loud "vibrating noise". It sounds as if a metal rod is vibrating in high frequency - the closest imagination could be a generator running or a noisy lawn mower / weed trimmer running... It is very loud, and happens frequently, but I cannot reproduce it at will.

The changes that happened in the last three days are (1) I purged the water from the sprinkler system and shutdown the valves (as part of winterization) (2) shut off the water supply for the toilet tank in the powder room (because the flap appeared to be loose causing leaking, which I need to fix. Until then I wanted to keep the water shutdown). These two things happened on Friday and I since Sunday I have been hearing this loud vibrating noise. Any help / insights would be very much appreciated.

    Sincerely
    RA

The noise you are hearing are your water lines vibrating in the walls. The cause most likely is too much pressure. They make pressure regulators that I believe would solve your problem.
