I have a 15 yr old step daughter and a friend of hers that comes to my house off and on. They called tonight and said the got scabies from my house. No in my house has ever had scabies before. EVER. So is it possible that they could have got it from here. What is it what causes it and how do you get rid of it? Thanks for help n advance.

The short answer is no.

It is a skin mite that is transmitted through skin to skin contact. You should do a good clean of your house. Unless your step daughter gets it, than it is not from her. Chances are the mother of the daughter is as ignorant as you are about the condition and is blaming you for it instead of the proper source. Just make sure your house is good and clean and you will be fine. IF your daughter develops scabies than go to the doctor and get the proper cream for it.

It isn't a terribly hard thing to treat.
