I missed my period this month (last week). I took a pregnancy test Friday before my missed period but it was negative. I took another one (same kind) tonight and it was negative. I am on Alyacen 1/35 birth control pills. Have been for two months going on third month. Before it was changed by my pharmacy, I was on Necon 1/35 since January. Please help me out. Been having early pregnancy symptoms but don't understand why they are negative. I already had a son in December 2010 and I don't understand what is going on. I am currently looking for another OB GYN because the one that delivered my son has me not believing some things that were said. One day it was one thing and the next week it is totally something different. Thanks.

One week late is often too early to test. Also, testing in the evening makes a false negative even more likely.

Wait another week or two and test again if you still don't get your period. Test with first morning urine. If that test is negative then wait until your next period is due and test again if you miss it, or see a doctor for a blood test.

Remember that some women don't get an accurate test until well into their first trimester, sometimes later.
