    Water moving in my toilet bowl while not in use all the time
    The water has been moving for about a week now. I am hooked up to city sewer I have a 4 inch vent. In a in a week.

    Toilet problems are usually pretty much straight forward. If it's using water randomly then it's because the tank is draining and refilling. It's usually the fault of a hardened flapper valve that doesn't seal tightly.

    I would put some food flooring in the tank and see if the bowl discolors. If so, the flapper is leaking. Other possibilities are a plugged vent or wind blowing across the vent causes pressure and the water fluctuates.

    Let's just cut to the chase and replace the flapper. At the same time run your fingernail around the seat to detect any rough or nicked spots./ If you fond any change the flush valve. When you set the linkage on the flapper the chain wants to have 1/4" of play when the flapper's seated. Good luck. Tom
