After how manny days of a missed periods should I test for pregnancy..?

The doctor told me that pregnancy test do show the hcg level as soon as one day after your missed period but also everyone different I would wait a week if you still haven't started or you get a negative reading & you still think you are go to your obgyn and get a blood test. Good luck!
