The coils are not frozen, and there is no dust, the only fan I can see is working. Any idea what could be wrong

It sounds like either the compressor is bad or it is stuck in defrost mode due to a defective defrost timer.

Are the condenser coil clean? Dirty coils will cause a refrigerator to burn up the compressor; make sure to check it first.
