Not sure if my answer is right
Imgaine that you are working in a one-family dwelling that has a floor area of 1800 square feet (exclusive of an unfinished cellar that is not adaptable for future use, an unfinished attic, and open porches). The appliances in the home are an 11 kW range and a 6 kW, 240 V dryer. What is the minimum number of 120-volt 2-wire branch circuits that would be required for this home?

Where, code for England will not be same as US, and certainly not the same as China.

    I arrive at 6.

    1800 SF at 3 watts/SF= 5400 watts / 120 volts = 45 amps, min 3 - 20 amp circuits for general lighting load.

Plus the required two for small appliance, and one for laundry, totaling 6- 20 amp circuits.

How did you arrive at 7?

Any reader should keep in mind, this is bare minimum required by Code. Should always exceed Code requirements, and have more circuits that minimum.

A bathroom circuit is required, but not required to be included in the calculation of sizing the service or min amount of circuits.
