Can boxed wine go bad.. please help
Hi... I am having a major dispute with my son. I had a box of wine that I left at my sons house, (for like 6 months) The night I bought it I had a cpl glasses then left it. He sat it on top of the fridge they keep outside. 6 months later I was visiting and drank quite a bit of it. ( please keep in mind that I have quite an alcohol tolerance) after sitting outside for 6 months or so I didn't even think there could be a problem with it. It tasted a little off and was kind of fuzzy/ not quite fizzy... I ended up feeling not drunk but like I was on some weird drug. Everything that night that I can remember is more like a bad dream than any other drunk I've had. Some bad things happened that night. I looked it up, (can wine go bad) and found an article (that I can't find now) it stated if it tastes a off and is a little fizzy do not drink it. It can have a bad effect on your system. My drinking is now under complete control, but my son is not speaking to me due to the things that happened that night. He has called me a liar... that its not possible for wine to go bad. That I made up what I read. Am I crazy... did I imagine it? Please help. I miss my son.

Of course wine goes bad. It can just go sour, or you might have ingested a mold that made you crazy for a while.

One has to argue first, if it is even "good" to start with, Sorry I am perhaps a wine snob.

But yes of course win goes bad if it just sits, and much easier in a box.

Boxed wine does NOT keep indefinitely, especially after being opened.
SIX months is way past it's best before and it should be binned.
