    Auto air condition
    A 1998 toyota nadia when turn the ac botton on it lite up an then start to blink . The compressor clutch dose not lock in .What could be the problem?

    Its broke...

    Most likely because its leaking... and won't hold a charge.

    It has refridgerant in it when I connect a piece of wire from the battery to compressor the clutch engauges an it start to cold

    All that proves is the clutch works.. it does not prove it has ANY refridgerant charge in it. In fact it does indicate that its not working because it has low or no charge in it... and that the low pressure safety switch was doing its job.

    YOu need to have a set of manifold guages and know how to read them to find out how much of charge is really in it.

    YOu would need a leak detector for locate a leak... a vacuum pump to evacuate the system AFTER you find and fix the problem... a new reciever-drier and knowledge of how much and what kind of refriderant oil to put in the system... manifold guages and know how to read a pressure chart and/or have a charging schale to recharge the system... etc...

    In short... you are in most likelihood going to have to pay someone to fix this... unless you have a friend with the equipment and knowledge to use it.
