Well, this is not going to be easy. There is an old movie I am looking for. I would say it was set in the 1940's or early 1950's, or even before. I saw it on TV years ago. The story is about a woman accused of being a witch, and she is actually tossed on a bonfire, attached to a ladder or something like it. They just toss her in! There are children singing a funeral dirge-like hymn. The Catholic church is involved in the whole thing. It is set in a monastery. They stretch her on a rack, to torture a confession out of her. The monks are everywhere, dressed in brown robes. I *think* the woman may be married to, or be a relative of, the head monk. They say you can see the devil in her eyes. It has been a long, long time since I've seen it. I can't figure out how women would be in a monastery, but they are there.

I have been searching for this movie for a long time. Anybody know what it's called, and where I can get it? <email removed>
