    Details to levy on property
What does it mean and what can I do when a levy has been put on my property. In a dispute with my town in Rhode Island over the placement of a shed on my property a judgement was awarded for "fines" in the amount of almost $71,000.00. The constable came to my house and asked if I could affords to pay these fees which I told him no. Now I received a letter saying that a levy has been put on the rights to that property. Can they do that ? Does that mean that they can take my house. Please help.

You need to see an attorney as soon as possible, since this is done because of fines and penalties, not just regular type debts.
