I have a 2003 hoda odsey. It will not go in gear.I noticed that the brake lights are not working. But when they do work it will go in gear. I got it to go in gear but when the brake lights don't work it won't go in gear. Does any one have any ideas?

There is a brake interlock that works through the brake light system. Probably a bad brake light switch but could also possibly be the solenoid shift interlock. It is apparently not adjusted properly or is possibly broken. The brake light must be on and it is energized.

Check/replace the brake light switch. Try spraying the switch's mechanism with WD-40 and working it several times. Ensure it's adjusted properly.
