    Old furnace - need help
I have a very old furnace. At some point, the porch was finished and turned into a laundry room. It has it's own heating zone. Right now, the heat will not shut off in there. The valve controlling it is a White Rodgers F19-0097 Zone-a-flow. Any ideas on how to turn the heat down??

    Thanks.

Try disconnecting the wire from terminal 1. If that fails, rap on the valve body (not the motor) firmly. I don't mean wail on it. Just a couple of firm taps from a small hammer or good sized wrench.

You may also try to locate the control for that zone. It could be a thermostat located in that room or? If it has 3 wires going to it then it has to be controlled by something.

Thanks, I did check the thermostat and it didn't matter what position it was in, the heat stayed on. So, I messed around with the dial on the side of the valve body and somehow managed to turn the heat off to that room. It may get a little cold in there, but the side where all the plumbing is shares a wall with the bathroom (where the heat is working fine). I hope that will be enough to keep the pipes flowing until I can afford to get someone to come in and look at the whole system.

Thanks again. Good to know there's a place I can come to with questions about my antique heating system!
