Central home a/c unit is not cooling house
My central a/c unit is not cooling the home. The air is blowing out through the vents in the house but only lightly, not nearly as strong as it normally does, and it concerns me for I have vents shut off in other rooms so I can get the front rooms cooled down. The thermostat says 80 degrees in my house. What steps can I do to check my a/c unit before I call my landlord? What would be some trouble shooting steps I could do to try to eliminate some things it may be. Are there some red flags I could be looking for with my inside thermostat and my outside unit? Should the copper wiring be wet? Should the copper also be cold or warm? Are there any places that water should not be? About the fan, should it sound a certain way, (it sounds normal) and are there things it shouldn't be doing or shouldn't sound like? I am a single mom and I have got a child with a breathing condition and a skin/sweating condition that she has to stay in a very cool (70-ish degrees) or she will overheat and faint. So I am desperate to get some help.from the bottom of my heart, any time and help you give me is more appreciated than I can express. My landlord is a first time landlord and he is terribly slow to fix anything around the house that needs fixing. And the more expensive the slower he is, or it doesn't get done at all.
Please sir, if there is any advice you can give me, I appreciate it more than I can express. I thank you in advance for any time and effort you put towards my plight. I need to do something very soon. Thank you again
