    Removing cast iron from pvc
I am remodeling a bathroom shower and want to move the drain a couple of feet I broke up the concrete and the pvc drain goes into a cast iron main drain. What's the best way to remove the pvc so I can re-route the drain using pvc once again into the cast iron.

Cut the PVC before it connects to the cast iron, then replumb the drain with PVC. If possible do not disturb the connection to the cast. Assuming that the PVC is connected to the cast with a rubber grommet they are not the easiest thing to make, especially in a trench.
