    Capuchin is right about choosing two reactants that would contain the appropriate ions in solution but since Fe(NO3)3 is soluble in water, alcohol, and acetone, you would need to find an appropriate solvent for all of the materials you use to get the result you want.

    In other words, If you use water as the solvent you will have mostly ions in solution and certainly not a measurable quantity of precipitate. You need a solvent that the reactants will dissolve in and the iron nitrate will not but the other product will. So three out of the four must dissolve.
