My husbands step son is living in our home in another state. He was going to try to buy it but isn't able to get a loan. He owes us over 5,000. I want him out and to sell the home and my husband refuses to make him leave. We are retired and was expecting to sell the home for our retirement. Is there anything I can do other then divorce ?

Probably not. If you and your husband both own the home, both of you would have to agree in order to evict your husband's former step son.

What is the reason he owes you $5,000? Is this past due rent, or what?

Yes we were charging 500 per month and he has just stopped pay it. If we get sick the government will take it and can't get help if something happens and we get sick
